Friends have raved about air bnbs and how it is less expensive than a hotel. I am old school and proud of it. I prefer to stay in a hotel. But just to see what all the hype is about I go on the site and notice the prices are reasonable. However there is also a “host fee” and “service fee” listed in the total if I book. The site does not have an explanation, so I go to Google. The ” host fee” is what is what is charged to a host for listing the property. The “service fee” is usually a cleaning fee. This is a bait and switch! You are lured in but then given additional charges at the end. Things that the property owner should pay for. And fees that hotels include when they determine the price of a room. Smh…
