As someone who works in the spa industry, this is something I have seen more times than I can count. It is well intentioned advice I would like to pass on to the general public: And please feel free to share this with anyone who is about to make this faux pas.
If you have to buy a Christmas present for someone who is miserable, please do not get them a gift card to a spa thinking it will “mellow them out.” It. Will. Not.
1 ) They ALWAYS show up late to the appointment and complain when instructed to fill out a health history.
2) They go out of their way to be rude to the staff and service provider.
3) During the appointment they complain about EVERYTHING.
4) When the session is over they will say they didn’t like it and then go online and give the establishment a bad review. Your hard earned money and good intentions will not be appreciated.
In my experience, someone who is miserable will continue to be miserable no matter what you do for them.
Instead, ask them what they want for Christmas.
