Not everyone who says they can help you will come through for you. It can be a statement a person makes to appear connected, knowledgeable, or for your attention. But there are occasions when their own life takes a turn and promises they have made to others have to be put on the back burner. Or what they thought what would be a simple task is more involved than expected. The thing I have learned is nothing is guaranteed. It is also my responsibility to follow up and ask where things stand. And if I receive a vague answer or get ghosted, then it is my job to go to work for myself.
