Watching Me

My neighbor had a friend visiting and she told me she bought a car because of me. I had bought a car from Carvana and she had seen when my vehicle was delivered to the complex on a flatbed truck. A week later her husband was in an accident and totaled his jeep. They went to a dealership to look for a new one but didn’t care for the salesman. They searched the Carvana website, purchased a truck, and were happy with how easy it was. I laughed and told her I guess that makes me an “Influencer.”

It occurred to me how when I got my new car I was excited, but I was only paying attention to my experience. I wasn’t thinking about how others were watching and forming an opinion. I’m not saying we should be concerned with what others think of us, but that conversation reminded me of how everything we say and do impacts another person. And it could be good, neutral, or negative. So starting today I am going to be more mindful of my attitude, actions, and words.
