There is a difference between someone who is private versus someone who is secretive.

The person who is private does not feel they need to share their business with others. They can be selective of who they interact with and limit what they reveal. A possible burn in the past could be the reason for this.

A secretive person got caught doing something they shouldn’t have. Instead of learning a lesson they are at it again. But this time, they are covering their tracks.
