Pleas don’t suggest to someone who has been in a hurricane or flood to “just wash stuff.” The water from flooding is dirty, it stinks, and is filled with bacteria. It’s not like when a bathtub overflows. That is clean water. Clothes, appliances, furniture, and keepsakes which are damaged from floodwater have to be thrown out.
